Volunteer With Sustainable Sage Foundation

White sage (Salvia apiana) is more than a plant — it is part of a living ecosystem, cultural lineage, and sacred landscape. Sustainable Sage Foundation welcomes volunteers who feel called to support the care, protection, and ethical stewardship of white sage through hands-on, land-based work and program support.

Volunteering with SSF is an opportunity to learn directly from the land, gain practical experience in sustainable plant care, and contribute meaningfully to the preservation of white sage in its native environments.

What Volunteers May Help With

Volunteer opportunities vary by season and project need and may include:

  • Assisting with white sage land stewardship installations

  • Supporting ongoing plant care and habitat restoration

  • Learning sustainable approaches to watering, pruning, and observation

  • Assisting with verification site visits and documentation

  • Supporting educational efforts, research, and program development

No prior experience is required. Volunteers are guided and supported and are expected to approach this work with respect, patience, and responsibility.
